I'm pretty sure this isn't just their families but basically their entire NATION that wants to get rid of these two considering their social standings. If they were just regular people who didn't want to get married then I expect most would let it go but because they're absolute aholes in positions of power they've decided on this extreme method to get them out of everyones hairs, which makes this hilarious and me wondering just how bad these two were in their homelands
