Sengoku Komachi Kuroutan: Noukou Giga - Vol. 7 Ch. 34 - Gentle Persuasion

@lasercats previous chapter has established that brown rice is only eaten by commoners, the guy being a noble scion won't eat that. Modern Asians also generally prefers white than brown. Other sources such as soy or fish is either very diluted (miso being a fermented soy) or spoils too easily, aquaculture isn't a thing yet in that era.

Again, this very ordinary, common, and plain girl sure knows a lot of stuff. If average people know about this vitamin B1 shit, then I know at which side of the spectrum I'm standing on.

brown and black rice are very difficult to chew if they were prepared/cooked the same way as white rice. that's why asians prefer white rice as it's more appealing and softer (me too, i like it soft). removed hulls from whitening process usually used as a livestock fodder but it also could be made into other food like sweet cake and fermented like soy bean cake.

@AnotherMMD
"Prior to the eighth century, perhaps the most widely made rice wine was hitoyozake (一夜酒) or so-called overnight sake. This was made by allowing cooked rice or rice gruel to ferment naturally"

So I'm guessing this sake is not the clear type we know, but a more cloudy one with rice byproducts in it, and rice is rich in vitamin B1.

Well let's if they will soon take from her the rights to enjoy her peaceful village chief days,where she is all like,no agricultural land to take care of no lifu.XD.

I just hate the fact they were using her as they pleased like a tool,oh well she knows it tho so.....I just hope she can make back to her original world.

For one second I thought he was about to say that he wanted Shizuku as his wife. Ufa~~ ainda bem que a quer adotar XD

Vitamin deficiency, huh. Not unlike how the wealthy in the west used to only eat white bread because they could afford it, having poorer diets and more tooth decay as a result...vs average peasants who ate more whole grains had more fuller sets of teeth. Nowadays, it's the complete opposite, where white bread is cheap and whole grain is more expensive, and everybody's teeth goes to shit with sugar being in virtually everything. Socioeconomic cultural shifts sure are a funny thing to think about.

Seeing her own village being developed was fun while it lasted. Time to say goodbye to the farming life?

I guess no more village building? I wonder if she going to have to take a step back from doing work herself and taking a more administrative role

Lmao how she cried for her village and her country lifestyle. If she’s going to be the daughter of a noble man who holds great influence in the imperial palace, I guess she’ll eventually need to learn women etiquette and stuff. Sincerely hope she’ll stay as free tho. She’s gaining more and more power but is losing more and more freedom too...

aww going to miss the village:(
thanks for the chapter!!!! always waiting for this one to update:)
