I never understood why people get mad for sniping, like, you (scanlator) don't own the rights for the series, anyone can translate if they want.
Usually I don't talk about this because people get mad, like, real mad for some reason. Thx for the translations as always <3

Who cares? So's loli, for many of us. Doesn't make it wrong. I hate that argument and object to its use on principle.

As for sniping, it's bad because it usually sacrifices quality (of the raws, the scanlation itself, or both) for speed, which is rarely ever worth it, and because it often introduces inconsistencies (typefaces, terminology, and other conventions) which are unpleasant to the reader. If those aren't an issue, then sniping doesn't really matter, aside from being wasted effort to have two groups doing redundant work.

People complain about sniping because it drives groups to stop translating. Not a hard concept to get, it's not really about ownership over a series etc.

"Sniping" is only bad if you do a poor job at scanlating (like latest chapter of Fechippuru) with unintelligible translation, poor quality or no cleaning and bad typesetting.

Many groups have other expenses to pay besides just buying raws. Most big groups have their own sites, for example, and server hosting is by no means cheap.

As for whatever money is leftover, what's wrong with taking it for yourself? Scanlation is hard work and can be very time consuming, so I don't see any problem with accepting payment for it.
