Shikkoku Tsukai no Saikyou Yuusha - Vol. 1 Ch. 1 - The Hero Of Darkness Fall Into The Abyss

@Cyoteblack What a fitting profile picture for your comment

That aside I quite like the setting for this one, I hope to read more soon, thank you for the release.

I love it when someone so stupid and naive gets betrayed by those he trusts. Hero "nice guys" are so annoying.

I Hope he will kill his old girls party members... and not Have in the end mercy for them . The excuse from the girls are so lame .

He says he's gonna be 25 years old and..... got used by girls so easily.
Cheerleader effect?
maybe he never had any real human contact with anybody/family/friend and when the three girls showed him some "kindness" he ate the bait after 3 years lol.
"erase the sorrow of the world" lol edgy, very old and still too idealistic like a teen.

and will there be no end to fenrir/wolf buddy/wolf fkbuddy?
edit: that was a fox? didn't notice lol

even if he were to forgive his party, I hope they still get just punishment.

i mean say what you will but you gotta remember this isn't an
a. Isekai so he has no knowledge of the general archetypes of hero summoning's and whatnot, just a "normal" guy born in a good ol medieval fantasy type place.
b. got strung along for 3 years, i mean i can understand you calling him stupid for falling for some chick after 3 weeks but dudes been in thick and thin with these gals for 3 years, that's quite a facade they kept up.

So judging by how the girls were all crying they do care for him, so the various heroes probably have means of controlling them (slave, supporting their family, etc.), and it's notable that the MC, even after giving up on life, not only had powers previously unknown by most but had such a view of himself that he wanted to die elegantly. Meh, I'll enjoy some trash, but the three girls are going to be rejoining his party eventually after their 'real' parties are all killed/disband, the girls showed too much sympathy for him and didn't hurt him physically, clearly laying ground work for them to regret their actions and try to atone one by one. Let's see why wolf Waifu wants to be killed by a hero.

I thought it might be a very silly revenge manga, but I like the slow life idea (@Sanimu). That sound intriguing.

Welp, casual comment over, let's start the rant:
That MC....oh boy.
1. Three girls confessed to him and that isn't troubling him, huh? It be great for him, if it was only one, but three? In his battle party? And he doesn't see the problem with that? (Turned out it was no problem for a different reason.) Damn, happy go lucky guy. Any real beta male would at least feel troubled about hurting two of his friends. Now is he the nice guy, author tries to sell us, or just a wanker, that wants to screw them all? But this is at least the only arsehole side to him.
2. In general I don't have anything against good guy characters. I actually like most of them, but this guy is bordering at making me sick. Soooo f*cking unrealistic, it's annoying. He's crying about ... I don't know the background story of him, before meeting his "companions". Maybe there was also a lot envy involved and those girls restored faith in mankind in him again, but ... he's crying about that birthday party and the presents....author you went full 11 on that. Too much. Please turn it down a bit. M'kay?

And now for the good thing:
And there are actually some. The betrayal setting, while it smells generic, and tastes like that, isn't that badly executed. There are some mistakes. Those hero's made the mistake to leave alive. What if somehow he makes it back to the king and tells him, what happened? (After showing of his left magical energy in the tavern, it seems possible.) But maybe, they would have been magically marked as PK, so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Overall it's not bad.
The author established a motivation for later for the hero, set a quest (search for the fragments), de-powered him, to make it interesting, but left his memory/skills untouched. (Test of skill. Looking forward to it.) He gave him a new interesting campanion, I believe will share his POV and I'm certain this is also his new waifu.

What I fear might happen:
This could turn out to be a quest for revenge. And with the disposition of MC and the light heartness of this manga's style, it would rather be a quest for forgiving. MeeeEEEEEEEHHHHHHH! I just can't see that character giving out just punishments. The betraying bitches aren't that bad, they have been blackmailed, they really do love him, if he would have confessed too, they would have trusted him, canges sides and this wouldn't have happened, so it's his fault for being so naive, or they got jealous because they thought he double played them with the other girls, yaddayaddayadda. Surly enough reason to kill him off, because MC is bigger then life. The thought of it is making me wanna...*yuck*🤢.

Make it a slow life and make them come crawling back and beg. Beautiful.
