It's just our usual misunderstanding-trope, just a bit more brutal and less comedic.

That's quite fucked up how she's essentially being brainwashed by the "blessing" to become a hero. It doesn't even surprise me that she became a yandere considering that all her emotions are already killed off. Any little emotion she felt, she's gonna latch on to it for dear life.

The hero aside, it's satisfying to see Alex getting punched like that. He thought the hero was another thing he can try and manipulate. With that, hopefully he realizes that there's no path with the hero for his greedy ass.
