@Hextri so in taisho otome otogibanashi, the story starts bc the oldest Shima brother died. he was the heir to the family, but died before he could inherit, get married, have children, etc. tamayo (jintaro’s mom) is going to wed tokoyo to her dead older brother in what is known as a ghost marriage. This is practiced in some cultures, most notably chinese culture, to wed two dead and unmarried children in the afterlife.
