This is kinda why I hate promises. Why do people make promises ? Unless you're some omnipotent God that controls everything, you shouldn't make promises. Unless we change the meaning of promise to "ensuring the other person that you'll do your best but won't guarantee anything" then promises shouldn't exist. Anything can mess up a promise.
I know I sound too serious for a made-up webtoon but this bothers me in real life.

@Shadowtheimmortal I’m so sorry for wrongfully accusing you guys I thought them dropping the series was an April fools joke. I’ve seen so many good series get dropped because of sniping issues lately that I’m a little sensitive on the matter. Thanks for picking this up!
