@Cyoteblack If you're talking about the beginning, she didn't die. The shadows helped her escape. Sadly she had nowhere to go at that point and and had to return home eventually. She didn't go back in time, she just went home. She started using her powers on the people who did her wrong, and then later she went to the duchess to make a contract. After that she had to back home yet again and not use her powers until the duchess could get her.
