nah, fuck that little shit, these parents have it hard as they're in a bad spot rn and their daughter only adds weight to their problems. A normal child would try to be helpful if it sensed that their parents are super tense and not bitch about having no time to play in the forest

I don't know how much experience you have with young children but it doesn't seem to be much.
In this situation yelling at the kid would solve nothing, the only thing you're going to get is a crying and rebellious kid who would not listen to you and get involved in the situation you want them to be safe from. I know the dad is very frustrated but the best way to go about it was to sit the kid and explain why the can't do what the want, she may be young but if you calmly explain the situation she would have understood.
@Lekimno A normal child would behave like a child, which is what she's doing.
Not to say that's a good thing, just something to be expected.
Kids need parents because their lack of experience make them underestimate the dangers of the world, as well as the problem caused by their behavior (Not eating veggies, not brushing their teeth, climbing trees, playing with wild animals...)
aw man.. I feel this dude. I have crippling anxiety and impossibly high expectations that I place upon myself, even though I'm self aware of all this, I still can't help but break out of it. Just a mad loop that I can't get out of
MC is worried about not being strong enough for physical labor? I bet he ends up being surprised by how much strength he has thanks to training, even his mom commented on his "insanely trained body"
