The NPCs in this Village Sim Game Must Be Real! - Vol. 2 Ch. 10.1

Whoa now there Ma', I know that you're happy seeing he's looking for a part-time job but please don't bring it up at the dinner table.

this is one of the best manga I’m reading, both the history of the village and the growth of the MC are excellent, continue with the good work Kirei Cake

@ greatninja3
Even though what you said is true, the first big attack on the town was the one when they had to flee and it doesn't seem like Carol's parents explained to her what exactly happens once a month as they were living in a fortified peaceful town, I mean aside from telling her that something bad happens she was not properly taught about it. Moreover, the wagon they were fleeing was covered in all of its sides, so she didn't saw any monster o people getting killed, she only knew it that they were fleeing from them.

She's old enough to understand (she's 7) what's happening if properly taught, if one of her parents had been injured or killed during the attack I'm sure she would be more cautious. She's way too sheltered.

haha a story about a worthless guy putting his act back together haha totally relatable 😀

well, solution for these kind of little shit was to let them experience fear, maybe a stab or two by the monster, or else she'll stay dumb the entire time.

I actually enjoy the bits of reality a lot more than I typically do in these types of series. Watching him come out of his shell is oddly rewarding.

I can definitely see this getting animated in the future. The plot is great, the characters feel alive. Yep, animation incoming when it hits chapter 60-80, probably.

Even if it seems hopeless with one hurdle after another, you just gotta take on step forward after the next step, and before you know it, you'll be sprinting, and then jogging at a steady pace.

Besides, he's been lifting those huge logs that would be impossible for most people unless they had a second person to help, so he should be fine with manual labour day jobs, in my opinion.

As for the daughter...she really doesn't seem to understand the situation they're in. I don't blame the dad for yelling, sometimes its necessary to put your foot down. It's the father's job to be stern after all, and vice versa the mother's job to be the compassionate one to balance things out. This isn't a situation where if you give in too much to your kid's demands, they'll simply throw a temper tantrum and forget about it a day later...no, it's a matter of literal life and death with one wrong move being game over.

That being said, I think the parents should have done a better job at explaining how dire their situation is and why they fled in the first place. Just being vague that it's dangerous to go out isn't going to help, because she thinks the brother can handle anything as kids often put their idols on pedestals (sometimes even up until they reach adulthood). They should have explained exactly why it's dangerous outside, where if monsters outnumber the brother or are stronger than him, even he will die (while pointing to that time he almost died from poisoning as an example, and absolutely would have died had the doctor not be in the area), and that was why they all ran away from the previous invasion horde. I guess this is the reason why so many fables with monsters exist, to try and better help younger children understand moral lessons.

I thought his strength was like the only thing he had pride in? Figured construction work would have been perfect.

dear God, if you read this then you also read manga like me please take the covid-19 monsters away, coz i need a job, and job are scarce these days. thank you for keep us healthy and please give us your mercy and grace. amen.

holly shit Rodis can't even stand up to his little kid. after he tries to discipline her he goes crawling back to get her forgiveness, he pretty much admits that he was wrong.Kid needs a big fat reality check before she gets herself killed . If Gams were not so honorable he would have been cucked already by now considering how his wife looks at him

We already knew MC was going to change from the premise but I'm really loving his development.
People, it doesn't matter for what "stupid/silly" reasons you have, self-improvement is always great.

@fall19

If Gams were not so honorable he would have been cucked already by now considering how his wife looks at him.
You have been reading too much netorare manga´s my dude.
I'm afraid you are just imagining the inferiority complex on him right now. ( he is just really stressed out FROM WATCHING EVERYONE HE HAS EVER KNOWN DIE TO MONSTERS )
He is not even close to being as bad as you imagine him, or at least in the novel he wasn't.

He wanted to explain to his daughter why she was wrong and why going out is a bad idea, that is by no means
" crawling back to get her forgiveness "
He is just sad his baby girl is mad at him, and lets her calm down before trying to talk to her again.
He got a legitimate reason to be scared of the upcoming event as the evil gods have burned bigger villages then this to the ground before, so he knows he is in the right and everybody would agree with him.
That said yes, Rodis is by no means a fighter, but he is an excellent merchant and has a few other skills ( but that won´t be important for a while for obvious reasons )

Kid needs a big fat reality check before she gets herself killed
Well...
She does get her reality check after everybody in the village dies...
Because...
BIG spoiler for the third arc
( we are still in the first arc, around the two-thirds mark or so... )
The village gets attacked later on in the story and she gets offered up as a "human sacrifice" to the MC so she could survive as everybody was going to die to monsters.
They failed to defend themselves from the attacking monster horde so they send her and the holy book to the MC.

This results with that she ends up shipped in a box ( with the book ) to the MC in his world, and that is pretty much the build-up for the arc after the next one.
Because the book is with her, the MC can no longer play the game, but he does get the ability to use his miracles in his world. ( among a few other cool "game-breaking" events )
