The Politics Megathread

I understand your concern about inflation and economic instability but I feel like that ship sailed when we abandoned the gold standard.

Currently our currency is backed by some weird math that ends with the government saying "We're good for it" rather than being tied to any particular commodity.
Fundamentally I'd argue Bitcoin has a more stable backing than the US Dollar.

As far as economic collapse, if $GME winds up above the short line it's probably going to happen, though that's largely because the major firms shorting $GME decided to do the same shit that helped caused 2008.

I understand your concern about inflation and economic instability but I feel like that ship sailed when we abandoned the gold standard.

far as im concerned its never too late to try and go back

as for the $GME event i cant help but wonder if the biden admin will bail out his friends that lost money

I understand your concern, but that is irrelevant because you can't do anything about it.

Our currency isn't backed by weird math it's backed by the military. Not adopting the us dollar is one of the main reasons America goes to "peacekeep" in a country

Ah, yes. The rich Japanese girl barely in her early 20s with money from her rich family to study abroad in Denmark managed to learn the "Way of the SJWs" and became an internet activist. So another one of those limousine liberals? Really has fuck all to do with the Mori fiasco and fallout.
Ah, at least the woman who replaced him seems worthy.

Also: Pro-Trump women's group cannot paint mural on NYC streets, judge rules

Lol.

The more hysterical version is the Chinese version:

The Little Emperors/Empresses who travel to western countries and enjoy all of the freedoms there and then turn around and try to promote China and its governance style to “at risk” “baizuos,” who will then turn around and suddenly advocate for Chinese interests in the west.

TL note: Baizuo means white left or white western liberal in Chinese.

Yes, they’ll mock them as they use them.

@chinay
>chinay says cruz is jumping ship
>cruz is actually just taking a vacation
The timing is beyond shitty, but he is one of the more harder working senators if you can avoid personal bias.

Let him have a vacation.

@wowfucktron I get that, but shouldn’t he also have had some consideration as to the condition he was leaving his state in? He left on Wednesday, after all of Texas was covered in snow and people began to genuinely struggle. Between then and his departure, couldn’t he have taken the time to reconsider his decision? Before the whole election fraud shitshow, I had a certain degree of respect for Congressional politicians, but, now, I’ve come to realize that the majority of the Republican Party is undeserving of my respect.

An overview of my political ideology: I identify as liberal with a socialist bias (as opposed to a capitalist bias); however, there are some typically conservative policies that I support.

@chinay
He probably had this vacation planned out for a while and most likely didn’t want to cancel, I don’t really blame him for opting to leave during a storm.

As much as I hate politicians, they are people too. They make mistakes and have needs just like us.

@Chinay
dude he's a federal senator in a senate controled by democrats. what do you want him to do? beg the democrats to send money to texas? most of them are probably on twitter going "hyuck hyuck texas is stupid because they lost power in a once-per-century blizzard...and your a bigot if you question California losing power every summer" him leaving the state is entirely reasonable considering the outage im sure many people are living with relatives right now

and i want to add in the must-have statement of socialism never worked and never will

On 13 January 2012 at 21:45, Costa Concordia struck a rock in the Tyrrhenian Sea just off the eastern shore of Isola del Giglio. This tore open a 50 m (160 ft) gash on the port side of her hull, which soon flooded parts of the engine room, cutting power from the engines and ship services. As water flooded in and the ship listed, she drifted back towards the island and grounded near shore, then rolled onto her starboard side, lying in an unsteady position on a rocky underwater ledge.

That work @wowfucktron ?

@readingsit
Yes, I know.

@immortalartisan

Same. It will be like the HWNDU series, but better.

Note: I will respond to everyone else later. It’s not my fault I am really far behind on my manga reading.

Also, apparently a leftist who will actually engage with us has joined the fray. Fun.

I’m curious what their impression of me will be given Immortal described me as a Frankenstein’s monster of political beliefs
