It's a tough call I guess. She can't show weakness here if she doesn't want to be taken advantage of, but getting rid of them would also just create more potential enemies since it's apparently going to effect their families too. Punishing them to some degree but keeping them working for her might be the best option, since she can assert her position and keep them in decent employment conditions at the same time. They'd probably appreciate not becoming "lower than slaves" as one of them called it.
 
i would cuz they have lacked a couple times now, maybe on the first time or so you can forgive them but they only care about themselves while the consort got a bonafide gang rolling around
 
Of course I would punish the maids, by making an example out of the two who ignored Ling when she was sick and getting poisoned. They’ve been negligent of Ling for too long and only paid attention to her when the emperor showed her affection. I would probably replace them with the slaves they look down on.
