That priest makes no sense. If God intended for the people to always wait around and be healed by the temple statues then why do they hunt for food or grow crops when they're hungry instead of praying to God to rid them of hunger pains, when they're cold should they pray to a statue for warmth instead of making clothes?
Besides they could have just said God has given them the tools for a cure instead of fighting against it. The cure is mostly herbs and most religions thank their god/s for producing all life. Wouldn't have been that far of a stretch to claim the duchess , wife if the holy sword, is also blessed and can produce massive amounts of healing herbs thanks to God but whatever typical bind greedy church antagonists
