The Wrong Way to Use Healing Magic - Vol. 1 Ch. 5 - Usata, Member of Rescue Squad

when i started reading this i really thought i was gonna dislike Rose but i was so wrong now i think she's my fav character

The knights just totally did not comprehend, like I said.

But, it looks like the king does, now.
Now that he realizes the end result that she seeks in her training, what she truly desires her trainees to become, including the personality she hopes for, he may be a bit less reluctant to turn over those with the healing gift to her for training.
One hopes he's still reluctant, however, as it is a brutal regimen, and if you aren't the right type of person, it could really do a number on you.
Worse, would be if someone with precisely the wrong type of personality were to complete her training.

But, yeah, Rose is doing what she's doing for all the right reasons.

@Weasalopes
But, yeah, Rose is doing what she's doing for all the right reasons.
No she isn't. She's training him for her own convenience in response to her wounded heart. She doing so to fill her needs. She's not training him for his sake or the sake of the kingdom. Yes they are beneficiaries, but they haven't been shown to be the reason.

@AMetroid

Hmm.

"Not wanting something like that to happen again" could be argued to be at least part of her reasons, and I don't think you can totally separate that from a concern for others.
I may be reading something that isn't there in what you wrote, but to me the implication was that she wasn't concerned about the other people, but only about how things impacted herself.
If she really wasn't concerned about the impact on others, she'd have left the kingdom, heading as far from the conflict as she could, working on the theory that if she got far enough away, the demons wouldn't reach that area until after she was dead.
She stayed, she's heading out into hostile environments to save the injured, when her abilities would allow her to make a good living anywhere she choose.
She puts up a hostile front because she doesn't want anyone getting close who isn't up to the challenges of what she's involved with.So, yes, she's motivated by not wanting to experience that pain again. But the only reason she felt any pain, was because she is concerned about others as individuals.

I kind of hope Usato's weapon of choice will be acupuncture needles, scalpals, or some other precision type weapon.

Can't she heal her eye back? Or is she not doing it out of grief?

Rose....noble as her intentions be I still don't like her and how she basically acts as she owns our MC and forces to mold him however she see fit.
Everything about her is so unlikeable to me because of how she enter the plot of the manga. Love badass characters but bossy character are always a no go unless they be bossy of a certain time and moment. Or their bossiness is somewhat amusing.
With her it's plain annoying and frustrating.

@Jayswing103 Is she? She's only thinking about herself and her own, old failure. That's her motivation. Usato isn't a person of his own for her, just a better, more perfect replacement for the comrades Rose lost and for what she blames herself. It also explains how she can train Usato like she does. Because Usato doesn't matter, only her own ideal matters. As long as Usato matches what she's trying to achieve, she's happy.

@Kaarme While she isn't a perfect person she's still a decent individual. The fact is that Usato would die if the Demon King's army won and so while she is using him to achieve a goal she failed to reach, she's also saving his life.

they SO should have called him "Bluezy" instead x.x sounds better, follows what he was trying to do anyways, and is also one letter away from bluesy.
