So for reference, we end up with Kahak roughly 200 years after parting with Hisame. It took roughly 40 years between Hayase and Hisame, going through 2 generations and 1"inheritor". We've gone through 5 more inheritors, assumedly 40 years apiece, hence 200 years. Then again, the time between generations can vary quite a lot so its a rough estimate at best.

Time is just flying by in this manga. It is safe to assume everyone he ever met is dead. Everyone he ever even saw in passing on-panel is dead.
Like every time it happens we're left with a blank slate where we don't know any living characters and have no attachment to nor investment in any of them.

... And even when characters do get focus for a while, it generally just means they're going to die horrific deaths.


So why exactly should anyone give a shit about anything that happens in this manga? It is all just so pointless...
