When he first arrived in that world he was level one, since then he's fought two legendary creatures (and tamed them both) and killed that one dog-like enemy. Even if beating Tomoe and Mio doesn't count towards exp, then his kill of the dog should've.

I hate how petty, idiotic shit seems to be the only conflict these generic manga can come up with. Would ANY inn ever try ripping off customers like that, especially brand new ones? That's the best way to go out of business before any business comes in to begin with. If you're gonna go the discriminatory route or "every man for themselves" then be subtler about it, don't make it obvious and resolve that issue the second it comes up.

Oh, and I love the extremely simplified and borderline incorrect explanation of inflation and economy dynamics. Supply and demand have absolutely no effect on the valuation of currency, unless talking about the supple of the currency itself. Why he even brought it up when he was talking about how the goods around town were valuated is a mystery.

If he was level 1, why didnt he just go around and kill a bunch of demons really fast to speed level to get it really high as well? Lmao thats what I woulda done, if i was lvl 1, I would go around and kill a ton of monsters and demons as fast as possible to raise my level really fast so i can be at the same level as the other two, or i would just figure out a way to change what shows up as my level even if im not actually that level

Considering that killing a 2 headed dog didn't raise his level (despite being a rank C+ job) it's more likely that the goddess of this world rejecting him is causing some sort of interference and preventing his true level from being read. (or it's too high and the paper basically resets to level 1)

Plus since the levels are used in a official capacity by this worlds' governments it would probably be hard to fake it.
