Umarekawatte mo mata, Watashi to Kekkon shite kuremasu ka? - Vol. 4 Ch. 21 - For 21 Years 1 Month, He Lived

tbh it's kind of hard to feel bad for the japanese if you read about the horrible things they did in the second world war in china and the pacific, it's almost amazing to see how the japanese paint themselves as the victims these days

@kalton ... do you really think that was the fault of the youths sent to die?? just because the government did terrible things and made its people do terrible things does not mean that you can't feel sympathy and grief over the losses faced by the families. these were real things that happened and yes, Japan was not innocent in this war. but the boys sent to die were

@kalton
Don't look at the forest, but the trees, look at individuals that were like you and me, just ordinary people that didn't hate anyone and just wanted an ordinary life, but got dragged into things they never could properly understand.

Fuck, this makes me realise once again that there is no good or bad during a war...he should've lived.

There's so much more value to this manga, and I wish people could see it more than just people "painting themselves as victims," as another user would say. I think its trying to depict an aspect of living through a war and leaving behind your friends and family. Its about valuing their memories together and treasuring them even through their final moments. This manga is made to make one reflect on life and to look at these experiences while we listen to another persons story. This is why I love it so much.

You can't really underestimate the power of brain washing, How japan and the culture made them believe that killing yourself and wasting your life is an honor.

Is he actually going to wake up and be active or will he be in the bed the rest of the series?

@Mzattwuuuu

What Japan was doing with their pilots turning them into Kamikazes was particularly brutal.

@kalton I thought this series clearly established that the ideologies of an entire country =/= of the ideologies of every individual, especially in the war times where people were being forced to participate.
