Shouldn't that single panel be enough to show he's not even close to as strong as the MC? He takes out his sword and then it's broken in like 0.5 seconds, kind of shows that he doesn't have the skill or power of a hero that killed the Demon King.

mah, so far pretty generic setting. Arga could have knocked out some Soldiers and had that priest undo his "curse" or even check first. could have easily outdone the hero back then and taken the seat as the true hero. but for PLOT sake he choose to escape, knocked soldiers down later easily, broke the heros sword and attack and left once again. i wonder just where this series wants to go.

@sjmcc13 : IIRC, his crest made him obedient to the hero's crest.

The Demon King's final act was to remove that forced obedience effect.

Arga never really seemed to care about the fame and the stuff to begin with. So, with everyone taking hero at face value about a curse that could spread to those breaking it, and let's just be honest, the hero has good face, the path of least resistance is easily to just bail. Not sure what they hope to find on the other continent to justify them though.

genuinely thinks he is the hero.
As well the DK revives from his head??? and destroys the capital, or maybe kingdom. "Hero" is insulted it did not treat him as a threat, and flees the kingdom, while traveling he unknowingly wanders into a Bandit village, boast about being the hero and is captured and auctioned as a slave going for 1 copper coin.
