Dungeon Meshi - Vol. 10 Ch. 68 - Thistle

Not buying the half-elf thing. Never once before have we heard or seen anything of them, and then suddenly Thistle notices she is one just after meeting her once, and there are enough of them that he has a stereotypical idea of them.

@Sikhander I don't think the manga would have the concepts of half-elves brought up all of a sudden if it weren't true or relevant to Marcille's character

As someone else mentioned, Marcille being a half-elf was previously eluded to in the nightmare chapter, where it’s mentioned her father died much earlier than she did, and that she would have to go about her life on a “different pace from others”

@Shdill He is an insidious and corrupting evil because his real body is in the demon realm. It has been explained in the previous chapters.

chapter 's name : thistle . at 1st , i thought the MCs would be cooking and eating the dark elf in this chapter , lol .

Looks like unlike the case with Captain Misurn, the Winged Lion here doesn't seem to have quite as much power over Thistle as the other demon did, maybe because Thistle was so adept at magic already?

Also Chilchak dressing as a mimic for Halloween? I guess he really is dressing as the scariest thing

@Sikhander You do notice about Marcille's nightmare chapter right? Where she mentioned that her mother told her that " everyone runs in a different pace" (or somewhere along those lines) during her father's funeral.

Someone in the comment section already thought how she might be a half-elf in that chapter number.

@BasilD

I think the reason why Thistle had so much power is because he sealed the Winged Lion this whole time, like what he did right now. Thistle was too restless and paranoid to be 'swayed' with words, by the Lion and anyone around, to make any more wishes.

@daywithoutgames thx for the link... I enjoy a lot of the art... except for the anatomically correct female orc, it giving me nightmare...

Is that a kiddie Marcille as a walking mushroom? That's pretty cute.

So yeah, showdown with the heroes and then canaries bustin' onto the scene. Damn, I really don't know what's going to happen. Is the daemon even evil? I wouldn't bet that he's not, if that makes sense but it's still hard to get a bead on everything.

BTW, I love Thistle's reaction when he realizes the burglars cleaned and organized his entire cottage.

I think we can figure out that Marcille's father didn't die young but died of old age because humans don't live as long as elves do.

She inherits her elvish features and lifespan from her mother, yet have the tenacity and curiosity like most humans from her father's side. I remember reading one of the D&D books, describing that half-elves inherit best of both worlds yet still experience prejudice from both sides.

We haven't figured out that she's a half-elf only because they aren't any other elves around in the story that saw her yet. People just assumed that having pointy ears makes her a full-blooded elf.

Scary how damn persuasive the Winged Lion is. Truly a demon.
Thanks for your work, EverydayHeroes!
