It doesn't make sense that the summoner could simply selectively sacrifice people that are in a close "psychological" relationship with the MC. 200 people that are physically near him, ok, maybe believable.. But "relatives"? What if the relatives went on a trip 1000km away from him?

Seems to me like a silly plot device just to make the villain more evil, at the expense of logic.

So according to Chapter 3, he should be able to unlock "The Holy Sword of Vengeance" soon, right? Page 25/26:

Unlock conditions: 1- Face more than 10 people the user trusted before, and swear from the bottom of the user's heart to take revenge on them. 2- User has received accumulated damage that exceeds a certain point from vengeance targets.

So all those people surrounding him, as soon as they start attacking him he'll get a new ability/weapon.

he already have that sword since chapter 1 and we saw it in the chapter 5 page 5, that's that sword that make his swords sealed instead of been striped.
The 10 people are on page 2 of chapter 1 by job...

Finally, a beta Japanese mc getting what he deserves. Ahh its so satisfying, whenever i see beta mc with their naive mentality in a manga i want something like this to happen to them, cant stand those mc. Still cant understand why he let that bitch live in chapter 1 and why not just kill everyone there, i mean he hates humanity of the isekai now so why not fuck things up right from the beginning? why give the princess the chance to strike against him again? not many knew about ritual being done anyway.

it is too late for this excuse / justification flashback chapter now , everyone already dropped this edgy , trashy manga since chapter 1 .

next time , the authors need to show the excuse / justification BEFORE the revenge , not show it after years of publication since chapter 1 .

but in another manga , there are actually worse excuses / justifications for the MC to commit violence , torturing , murdering of innocent people .

I would say much of the flashback should have happened at the front of the story. Starting from the initial betrayal (or a bit before that), his time running, this current flashback, and finally getting killed (aka chapter 1). End volume 1 with him appearing once again in that summoning room. That could have been great and would have flowed a lot better. And yes I have read plenty of the novel, though not all of it. The flashbacks that appear later than this (chronologically earlier with him falling and meeting a certain person) however could have remained as flashbacks since that makes more sense as a flashback.

Now some complain about how they got targets on Earth. I mean c'mon now we're arguing magic? Call them auto selected by a magic ritual designed to do just that.

Maybe the flashback should have been divided into episodes. I'm not a fan of cliffhangers and fragmentation, but that flashback is awfully long and indeed a bit late in the story. They should have sprinkled 2-5 pages worth each time throughout the chapters 3-9. Then again I hope we are done with the next one.

What's infuriating abut this is, that no matter how much he tortures her, it won't be enough. It's the edgier version of "losing something you can't regain". I this case he lost the ability to pay back the full amount. He can't take enough revenge on her to satisfies his and our hunger. But ... at least ... there are others to also take revenge on. Just simply accept the fact, that she didn't do it alone and therefore only carries part of the guilt. After he is done with her, he can move on. To the next target that is.
And what better target, then those entities called gods. Those, that made that ritual possible, even though there was seemingly no danger at all for that world.

I'm off reading chapter 1 (maybe 2) again now.

I see a lot of comments that comment on the logic of it, and how it wouldn't be possible regarding specific targeting.... BUUUUUT~~~~ Assuming one just has to cast magic from point A to B, the sacrifices could technically come from either end when given enough of whatever material to force a path between A and B. So one could specify "consume from point B" as target as well, and association by blood is even less complicated with the introduction of sacrificial magic. But yes, naive mc is naive.

The big question in my mind is how that spell actually works, is it "What the speaker thinks is true" or is it "What is actually true" Because a God who is so worried about their people that they give them a time rewinding cheat does not seem like the kind of god that would let that kind of magic affect their world.

Ok, so this chapter gives justification for his revenge on the princess and the kingdom that summoned him, with special attention to the Royal family who knew the cost of summoning a hero. They killed people on their planet and his planet. Those should be the targets, that's it. Nobody else.
