It's because he is doing what the teacher can't do: teaching her. And it hurts their pride as teachers. So, if she actually get into top 10, those teachers would definitely get salty af, and if she didn't meet the minimum requirements, then it means that the teachers get to have their ego stroked, as it would mean that he isn't as good of a teacher than they are and thus he should mind his own business.

from this i can see 3 things happening.
1) he will tell her about the deal with the teach and she will be devastated that they will see less of each other everyday and begin to study hard so she can be with him.
2) after finding out about the deal, she will make deal again that will put her on a supplementary test and she must pass it.
3) she/they will notice that there is a miscalculation on her test paper making her rank up.
